The U760 Ravenstorm is a 13-meter uncrewed wingman capable of striking ground targets and jamming enemy air defenses.
Airbus is pushing further into crewed–uncrewed teaming with another combat drone concept built to fly alongside fighter aircraft.
The U760 Ravenstorm is an uncrewed collaborative combat aircraft (UCCA) measuring 13 meters (43 feet) long with a 10-meter (33-foot) wingspan.
It is being positioned for multi-domain missions, including air-to-surface strikes using precision-guided munitions and air-to-air engagements with longer-range anti-aircraft missiles.
Ravenstorm can also conduct non-kinetic operations, with the platform capable of using electronic warfare to suppress enemy air defense systems.
Airbus debuted the UCCA at the International Aerospace Exhibition (IAE) in Berlin, with the system projected for availability in the early 2030s.
“Whatever uncrewed or ‘drone’ capability our customers need to strengthen sovereign air power, we deliver,” said Mike Schoellhorn, Airbus Defence and Space CEO.
Expanding CCA Portfolio
Ravenstorm joins Valkyrie in Airbus’ collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) offering, with the latter being developed in partnership with US firm Kratos.
Valkyrie is offered to the German Air Force under a sovereign capability framework, with delivery planned for 2029.
Once fielded, Valkyrie will undergo a series of trials assessing its air-to-ground performance and its ability to operate alongside the manned Eurofighter jet.
