Germany handed over to Ukraine a new military aid package, which, among other things, included two dozen Leopard 1 A5 tanks and more than 60,000 155-mm caliber ammunition.
This was reported by the press service of the German government, according to “European Pravda.”
In addition to 22 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, which the country transferred jointly with Denmark, as well as 61,000 155-mm caliber ammunition, Ukraine will also receive:
- five tracked all-terrain vehicles Bandvagn 206 (BV206);
- one tracked high-mobility transporter Warthog;
- three self-propelled anti-aircraft installations GEPARD with spare parts;
- two air surveillance radar stations TRML-4D;
- 10 MG3 machine guns with 500 spare barrels and breech blocks;
- 1 million ammunition for small arms.
In particular, Germany transferred to Ukraine 30 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts, as well as:
- 20 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones;
- 20 unmanned surface vehicles;
- 12 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones;
- six Hornet XR.
Also in the new German package are:
- three BEAVER bridge-laying tanks with spare parts;
- one DACHS armored engineering vehicle;
- six WISENT 1 mine-clearing tanks with spare parts;
- 16 ground radar surveillance stations;
- two AMPS self-defense systems for helicopters;
- two border patrol vehicles;
- 112 vehicles (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles);
- eight Zetros tankers.
Germany, since the start of the armed invasion of Russia on Ukraine on February 24, 2022, has provided Ukraine with material and technical means from the stocks of the Federal Armed Forces totaling about 5.2 billion euros.
In addition, more than 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have undergone military training in Germany.
Recently, it became known that the German government is allocating an additional 50 million euros for the treatment of wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
Also earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced plans for the country to provide an additional 100 million euros in aid to Ukraine this winter.
