Dozen more German tanks coming, says Ukrainian Presidential Office
The tanks committed as military aid by Poland and Germany have arrived in Ukraine, the Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said on Monday.
“The first three German ‘Gepard’ Flakpanzers are in Ukraine already,” Yermak said on Twitter, adding that a dozen more are coming.
In a separate tweet, he said that Polish PT-91 Twardy MBTs (main battle tanks) tanks are in Ukraine.
“A friend in need is a friend indeed,” he added.
More than 5,237 civilians have been killed and 7,035 injured in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine on Feb. 24, according to UN figures.
At least 16 million people in Ukraine have been forced from their homes, with 9.2 million having fled to other countries.
