Companies from Ukraine and Poland have agreed to cooperate on the development and production of small turbojet engines used in cruise missiles and drones.
This was reported by the press service of the Polish holding company Unimot.
To this end, the Ukrainian JSC Ivchenko-Progress signed a memorandum with the Polish company PZL Defence.
In addition to engines, the agreement provides for cooperation on other technologies for the aviation and defense sectors.
The document was signed on June 25, 2026, during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2026) in Gdańsk.
The project aims to combine the unique expertise of a Ukrainian design bureau with the industrial capabilities of a Polish company that has access to European Union and NATO markets.
The partners plan to jointly design and manufacture small-sized aircraft powerplants. In addition, they aim to establish stable Polish-Ukrainian supply chains in high-tech sectors of the defense industry and ensure the training of new engineering personnel for the industry.
Overall, the cooperation between the Ukrainian and Polish companies is intended to strengthen the sovereign technological capabilities of Central and Eastern European countries by expanding national expertise in the development of advanced aviation components.
The parties have committed to cooperating in the training of specialists and the development of human capital for the aviation industry, drawing on their own resources and the capabilities of higher education institutions.
