The US Army has purchased tactical mapping drones fitted with advanced cameras and sensors from EagleNXT through its German partner company Dronivo GmbH.
The sale, with an undisclosed price, comprises six eBee TAC drones equipped with S.O.D.A. 3D cameras and Duet M sensors that combine normal and multispectral imaging, and features activated RTK/PPK capabilities for precise positioning.
According to the company, the systems can create maps with centimeter-level accuracy and detailed 3D models, and operate effectively in challenging or remote areas without the need for extensive ground control points.
“We are proud to answer the Department of War’s call for streamlined UAS acquisition. Our NDAA-compliant, Blue UAS-listed eBee TAC tactical mapping drones will support Army missions with proven, readily deployable technology,” said Bill Irby, EagleNXT CEO, adding that the company has implemented improvements to deliver drone orders at a faster rate.
eBee TAC Drone
The eBee TAC is a hand-launched, fixed-wing unmanned system built for situational awareness, incorporating digital camouflage to reduce visual detection.
Deployable in three minutes and with a takeoff weight of 1.6 kilograms (3.5 pounds), the drone offers up to 90 minutes of endurance with a flight range of 55 kilometers (34 miles).
Potential military uses include border surveillance and reconnaissance, mapping for operational planning, intelligence-gathering, search and rescue, counterinsurgency operations, as well as training and simulation activities.
The eBee TAC acquisition is the army’s most recent engagement with EagleNXT’s platforms.
In November 2025, the service acquired three eBee VISION unmanned aerial systems that were used for training operations at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Germany.
