Spanish defense contractor EM&E Group has exhibited its new Ferox 6×6 armored vehicle at an international military solutions convention in Madrid.

The system is designed with modular architecture and anti-blast protection for “high-intensity operations” in complex domains.

Additionally, the platform incorporates modern components to optimize warfighter firepower, mobility, situational awareness, and adaptability in conventional and asymmetric combat.

The company will assemble the Ferox at its facility in Linares, Jaén, where it recently expanded its property to optimize its tactical vehicle manufacturing capacity.

“The presentation of FEROX at [International Defence and Security Exhibition of Spain] is a milestone for our company and for the national industry,” EM&E Group CEO Fernando Fernández stated.

“This vehicle marks the beginning of a new era for EM&E Group in the field of armored vehicles and underscores our commitment to increasing strategic capabilities and technological excellence.”

Among the company’s proven systems are the Guardian remote land station, the Sentinel remote naval station, the Alkon missile guidance system, and the Aunav unmanned ground vehicle.

The Ferox introduction follows EM&E’s partnership with Abu Dhabi’s state-owned EDGE Group to officially launch the vehicle’s production in Spain.

It grants the Madrid-based company “transfer of knowledge and the progressive national industrialization” of the system’s design and manufacturing, which is based on EDGE’s Jais 6×6 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Armored Personnel Carrier.

The Jais measures 7 meters (23 feet) in length, has a gross weight of 27,000 kilograms (59,525 pounds), and the capacity for up to 11 personnel.

It is powered by a 600-horsepower engine for a top speed of 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour and a range of 700 kilometers (435 miles).

Users can equip the platform with a remote-controlled station employing electro-optical sensors and a machine gun.
