Lockheed Martin has awarded Spanish firms Tecnobit‑Grupo Oesía and Sener new contracts to build production lines for key PAC‑3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) components.

The deals are part of a broader effort to accelerate output of the Patriot air and missile defense interceptor.

Tecnobit‑Grupo Oesía will develop a production line for specialized PAC‑3 MSE cables and harnesses under a purchase order signed on January 20 with Lockheed and officials from Spain’s Ministry of Defence.

Earlier, Lockheed joined Sener at a ground‑breaking for a Patriot Center of Excellence in Madrid, where Sener will produce PAC‑3 MSE actuators after receiving its own production line award in December 2024.

Both companies will expand local industrial capability to meet the rigorous requirements of PAC‑3 MSE component manufacturing and improve supply chain resilience as demand for advanced air defense systems grows.

PAC‑3 MSE represents the most sophisticated variant of the Patriot interceptor, using enhanced maneuverability and hit‑to‑kill technology to defeat ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic threats.

Lockheed’s PAC‑3 MSE Production Expansion

Over the past two years, Lockheed Martin and its partners have taken major steps to increase PAC‑3 MSE production and supply chain capacity for the US Army and allied customers.

In November 2024, the US Army awarded Lockheed a contract to increase annual production capacity to 650 interceptors per year.

In September 2025, Lockheed received a $9.8-billion PAC‑3 MSE contract for nearly 1,970 interceptors, marking the largest order in the company’s Missiles and Fire Control history.

Lockheed and the Pentagon signed a landmark seven‑year framework agreement in early January 2026 under which annual PAC‑3 MSE output is planned to rise from about 600 missiles to roughly 2,000 per year by the end of the decade — more than tripling current production capacity to meet US, allied and partner requirements.
