Elbit to supply undisclosed Asian nation with unmanned turrets
Israel-based aerospace company Elbit Systems has been awarded a three-year, $80 million contract to supply 30mm-gun unmanned light turrets for armored fighting vehicles to an unidentified Asia-Pacific nation.
“I believe that Elbit Systems is uniquely positioned to address the renewed and growing demand by militaries around the globe to improve the operational capabilities of their armored platforms, due to our ability to provide comprehensive integrated solutions,” Elbit’s Yehuda (Udi) Vered said.
The unmanned light turrets feature integrated sensors and display systems “for enhanced situational awareness, target acquisition capabilities, fire control systems and weapon systems of various types.”
According to Elbit Systems, the turrets deliver reliable high-performance firepower on the battlefield with their broad range of subsystems, including fire control, electrical drive stabilization, gunner and commander sights, battle management and protection system.
