Biden announces another military aid package to Ukraine
During his visit to Kyiv, US President Joe Biden is to announce a new military aid package. It will include artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars.
This is stated by the White House.
“Today, in Kyiv, I am meeting with President Zelenskyy and his team for an extended discussion on our support for Ukraine. I will announce another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars to help protect the Ukrainian people from aerial bombardments,” the statement reads.
The value of this aid package is $500 million.
In addition, the US President said that additional sanctions would be announced this week against elites and companies that were trying to evade or backfill Russia’s war machine.
Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv on February 20, 2023, his visit came unannounced.
As previously reported, the United States has announced an order worth nearly $1 billion to increase production of 155mm rounds that are being used in large quantities by Ukrainian forces against Russian invaders.
