British Modini introduced a Dart 250EW jet drone to destroy electronic warfare systems
British company Modini introduced a Dart 250EW jet drone to destroy electronic warfare systems.
The drone was presented at the MSPO2024 defense exhibition, which is currently taking place in Kielce, Poland.
The jet drone was developed based on the proven Modini Dart 250 jet drone, which ensured a high level of interchangeability of components and their availability.
The drone is equipped with sensors to defeat electronic warfare systems. It points at a jamming source using a dual-frequency antenna and a patented Modini FX-2 Flight flight controller.
The FX-2 Flight controller allows the drone to detect, lock on, and aim at a target that emits radio waves.
Dart 250EW is equipped with a modern Terrain following system, which allows the drone to maintain a relative altitude above ground level in the area from 50 to 100 meters.
The maximum speed at such altitudes is more than 400 km/h, which provides flexibility that will allow the drone to remain invisible to enemy radars.
After the drone has entered the enemy electronic warfare system’s area of operation, the flight controller FX-2 Flight provides guidance in azimuth and altitude to ensure an exact strike at the target.
The manufacturer expects a certain demand for drones of this type since the war in Ukraine has demonstrated the need for many inexpensive means to defeat enemy electronic warfare systems.
In addition, Modini specialists are developing a reconnaissance version of the jet drone under the Dart 250 ISR index.
Militarnyi previously reported that during the International Exhibition of the Defense Industry MSPO 2024, which begins today in the Polish city of Kielce, the local defense company WB GROUP presented a new Warmate 50 loitering munition concept.
