Canada will allocate $28.17 million (40 million Canadian dollars) to support Ukraine’s defense industry under the Danish model.

The Government of Canada announced this.

The funding will be provided in accordance with the Security Cooperation Agreement between Canada and Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umierov previously stated that in 2025, the partners would allocate a total of €1.5 billion to purchase Ukrainian weapons under the Danish model.

In addition, Canada will provide another $10.5 million (15 million Canadian dollars) to support its own companies that want to work and invest in Ukraine’s defense sector.

On February 24, it was announced that the Ukrainian Defense Industry and the Canadian company Roshel had signed a contract to establish a joint production of armored vehicles in Ukraine.

Within the agreement, the Ukrainian company will receive technical documentation and components for producing armored vehicles.

The Canadian government will partially fund the deployment of this production.

Canadian aid to Ukraine

It was recently reported that Canada will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package, which will include 25 LAV III infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), F-16 trainers, and ammunition.

In addition, Ukraine will receive four F-16 flight simulators to help pilots improve their fighter jet flying skills and maintain their combat proficiency.

LAV IIIs are no longer in production, so they will be supplied from Canadian forces.

These vehicles are well known to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as they are a licensed modification of the Swiss Piranha III and also serve as the basis for the American Stryker armored personnel carrier.
