Elbit Systems has delivered the first batch of contracted ATMOS howitzers and PULSE rocket artillery systems to Denmark.

Denmark ordered the systems in March after pledging to donate all 19 of its French-made Caesar howitzers to Ukraine, including some still on order.

Copenhagen ordered a battalion of ATMOS (Autonomous Truck Mounted Howitzers) for $119 million and two batteries of PULS (Precise and Universal Launching Systems), including rockets and missiles, for $133 million.

Nineteen ATMOS and Eight PULS

The ATMOS production will take place over two years and the PULS production over three years.

Citing a Danish Ministry of Defense spokesperson, Janes wrote that 19 ATMOS guns will be delivered by the last quarter of fiscal 2024 and eight PULSE systems by the first quarter of 2024.

The weapons’ full operational capability is planned for 2025.

Weapon Features

The 155mm/52 caliber truck-mounted ATMOS can strike a target over 40 kilometers (25 miles) away with standard projectiles and offers an extended range with rocket-assisted projectiles.

The PULS supports a range of munitions such as unguided and guided rockets and missiles with a range of 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) to 300 kilometers (186 miles).

The system can be mounted on existing wheeled and tracked platforms.
