EU to Provide Ukraine with Nearly €3 Billion in Additional Military Aid

The European Union plans to allocate around €3 billion in military aid to Ukraine next week.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on October 11 following a phone call with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
According to von der Leyen, the new funding will be directed towards drones and missiles to strengthen Ukraine’s defense and protect its airspace.
The funding is being provided under the EU’s Ukraine Support Loan programme, which totals €90 billion for 2026–2027.
Of this amount, €60 billion has been allocated for defense needs, while the remaining €30 billion will go towards budgetary support for Ukraine.
Zelensky also thanked the European Commission president for the previous tranche of €1.24 billion, which Ukraine has already received, and for confirming further funding.
On October 7, the European Commission transferred €1.24 billion to Ukraine to purchase Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), interceptor drones, ammunition for them, and missiles.
By the end of 2026, a further €28.1 billion will remain available to Ukraine under the Ukraine Support Loan programme.
Of this amount, €15.4 billion has been allocated to the defense industry, while €12.7 billion will go towards budgetary support.
A further €4.4 billion in budgetary assistance remains available under the Ukraine Facility programme.
Militarnyi previously reported that Germany would provide Ukraine with €1 billion in military aid and €350 million to repair energy infrastructure.
The two sides also plan to finalize an agreement on the joint production of various types of drones.
