Ukraine has unveiled the Vespa-15, a locally developed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for medium-range attacks.

It can reach targets several dozen kilometers away and is equipped with an explosive payload.

The explosive enhances the UAV capabilities against a variety of targets, including personnel, armored vehicles, light transport, and field fortifications.

It is built to function in contested environments, protecting against electronic warfare aimed at jamming or disabling drones and supporting operations in areas with active electronic countermeasures.

The Vespa-15 UAV is available in multiple configurations, with models suited for both day and night use, supporting operations under different conditions and mission demands.

Diplomatic Efforts

The unveiling of the system comes at a tense moment for war-torn Ukraine, as the country continues to face intense pressure on multiple fronts.

In recent days, Russia launched a wave of drone attacks, sending 273 Shahed drones toward various targets across the country, including the capital, Kyiv.

Meanwhile, diplomatic activity has resumed. Last week, Ukrainian and Russian delegations met in Turkey, marking their first direct talks since the early weeks of the full-scale conflict in February 2022.

The meeting led to an agreement on a prisoner exchange.

“We are working to bring our people home as soon as possible. As a result of negotiations in Istanbul, a significant agreement was reached: a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner-of-war exchange,” stated Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
