Report: Ukraine Moves Missile Factory Abroad to Avoid Russian Strikes

A Ukrainian official said the country has moved part of its missile production facilities abroad to keep them from being targeted by Russian strikes.

Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, told Spanish news outlet ABC that the move follows a Moscow attack that hit the area where the weapons were being assembled.

However, the official did not specify when and where the Russian attack took place.

He also refused to divulge the new location of the missile factory and when the initiative began.

“This is a classified program, and no one will tell you how it is going,” Danilov emphasized.

Domestic Missile Production

According to Danilov, Kyiv has been developing its own missiles since 2020 to prepare for future conflicts.

Some of the weapons are reportedly capable of hitting targets up to 930 miles (1,496 kilometers) away.

Last month, he claimed that a domestically-made missile destroyed a Russian S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile system in Crimea.

Ukraine is now allegedly intensifying its local production of weapon systems over fears that Western deliveries might falter in the coming months.

“Believe me, already very soon, someone [in Russia] will be burned, and burned in the direct sense of the word,” Danilov said.
