Lithuania to send 5,000 drones and air defense systems to Ukraine
Lithuania will send 5,000 drones and air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of autumn as part of military aid, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite announced.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite said Lithuania will deliver 5,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of autumn as part of a new aid package.
The aid, which includes 10 short-range air defense systems, anti-drone equipment, and ammunition, is expected soon.
Lithuania is also allocating 35 million euros for radar stations and demining equipment. Šimonite noted that Lithuania is committed to spending 0.25% of its GDP annually to support Ukraine.
Earlier in August, Lithuania signed contracts for drones with Baltic manufacturers, with most drones arriving this fall and the remainder in early 2025.
