The Dutch government has pledged 100 million euros ($102 million) to the British-led International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) to provide more military equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The new military aid is in addition to the 120-million-euro ($119.9 million) support package provided by the Netherlands to Ukraine earlier this month.

Of the amount, $45 million was allocated for procuring 90 T-72B main battle tanks as part of a trilateral agreement with the Czech Republic and the United States.

“If Russia were to stop fighting, there would be no war. If Ukraine were to stop fighting, there would be no Ukraine. International support for Ukraine remains vital,” Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren said.

The Dutch government is the latest British ally to contribute to the Ukraine fund.

Recently, Norway pledged nearly 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($150 million) of additional military support to Ukraine through the IFU.

Joint Expeditionary Force

Ollongren made the announcement following the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) ministerial meeting in Edinburgh.

The JEF is a UK-led multinational coalition whose mission is to respond rapidly to crises and national concerns in the High North and Northern Europe.

“The JEF is designed to build upon these partnerships that have evolved through strong operational experience and a shared common understanding of national security threats,” the coalition states.

“In acting together, we demonstrate the JEF’s solidarity, capability, and resolve to stand together for security and stability in our region.”

The multinational force includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
