Nimbrix Missile Targets Drone Swarms With Air-Burst Warhead
Saab’s Nimbrix missile is a counter-unmanned aerial system with an air-burst warhead to defeat drone swarms up to 5 kilometers away.
Swedish defense giant Saab has unveiled Nimbrix, its first counter-unmanned aerial system missile designed to tackle the rising threat of small drones on the battlefield.
The fire-and-forget weapon boasts a compact footprint, an active seeker for target tracking, and a hard-kill warhead capable of air-burst engagement against drone swarms.
Its modular design allows mounting on vehicles, fixed installations, or integration into broader air defense networks. It can also operate independently as a ground-based launcher.
With a range of up to 5 kilometers (3 miles), Nimbrix is intended to deliver a low-cost solution that can be deployed in numbers to cover larger areas.

Saab is positioning Nimbrix as a cost-effective addition to air defense arsenals, emphasizing scalability for swarm threats.
Discussions with potential customers are reportedly underway, with the company targeting first deliveries in 2026.
Saab said it will showcase Nimbrix at the DSEI 2025 defense exhibition, which will take place in London from September 9 to 12.
“Nimbrix is our answer to the unmanned aerial threats which have escalated in the last few years,” said Stefan Öberg, Head of Business Unit Missile Systems at Saab.
“Nimbrix benefits from our long experience of air defense, together with an agile way of responding to new needs.”
