German-Ukrainian Joint Venture to Mass-Produce Ground Drones for Kyiv
Operating as ARX Industries, the venture will manufacture UGVs based on Roboneers’ proprietary Lynx PRO platform while providing operational and sustainment support.
German defense firm ARX Robotics and Ukrainian robotics developer Roboneers have formed a joint venture to mass-produce unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The agreement was signed during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk under the “Build with Ukraine” initiative, with backing from both the German and Ukrainian governments.
Operating as ARX Industries, the venture will manufacture UGVs based on Roboneers’ proprietary Lynx PRO platform while providing operational and sustainment support.
The companies aim to produce several thousand units in its first year before expanding annual output to tens of thousands.
According to the partners, production will follow a continuous feedback model, incorporating operational lessons from deployed systems into each manufacturing cycle to accelerate future upgrades.
“Every week without the right equipment costs lives on the battlefield,” Militär Aktuell quoted ARX Robotics Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer Maximilian Wied as saying. “ARX Industries is our collective response to this urgent need.”
Enabling ‘Difference’ on War Zone
The Lynx PRO is designed for missions ranging from combat support and frontline logistics to mine-laying, counter-explosives, and casualty evacuation.
The platform can carry payloads of up to 300 kilograms (661 pounds), reach speeds of 12 kilometers (7 miles) per hour, and travel more than 40 kilometers (25 miles) on a single power reserve.
Roboneers Executive Chairman Anton Skrypnyk said the partnership would accelerate the delivery of proven autonomous systems to Ukrainian forces.
“Ukraine has shown that robotics makes a difference on the battlefield,” he stated. “Through ARX Industries, ARX Robotics and Roboneers are now scaling these capabilities up to an industrial level.”
