The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed the funds left for Ukraine’s military assistance.

A Ukrainian journalist who received information from a Pentagon briefing said that $9.3 billion was left for military aid to Ukraine. Approximately $7.1 billion is left in the Presidential Drawdown (PDA).

In essence, a PDA is a transfer of weapons from the U.S. Department of Defense stockpile.In April, Congress approved $4.3 billion, and $2.8 billion became available after recalculations.

Additionally, there’s approx $2.2 billion available under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The Pentagon spokesman emphasized that the United States will use all available funds to help Ukraine.

The Pentagon claims that between the passage of the April Supp & the middle of last month, they have delivered the following commitments:

  • – 83% of promised 155mm ammo, GMLRS, PATRIOT missiles, AMRAAMs;
  • – 67% of Stinger and HAWK missiles;
  • – 60% of Small Diameter Bombs and 105mm ammunition.
  • John Kirby, Coordinator of the National Security Council at the White House, noted that the current U.S. President, Joe Biden, has pledged to spend all the money left to support Ukraine while he is in office.

    “The President has pledged to spend every dollar we have in support of Ukraine for the entire time he is in office,” he said.

    Kirby also noted that there should be a balance in this case so that the Pentagon has time to replenish its stockpile instead of giving it to Ukraine.

    The United States will soon transfer Ukraine 500 interceptor missiles for the NASAMS and Patriot air defense systems.
