Russia starts military exercise in Pacific Ocean

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Friday the start of the military exercise of the Pacific Fleet, which will last from June 3 to 10.

During the drill, the group of vessels in coordination with the aviation will train the skills of detecting submarines, shooting above-water and air targets, and organizing navy supplies in the sea in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the ministry said in a statement.

Over 40 warships and fleet support vessels, as well as up to 20 aircraft are taking part in the drill, the ministry said.

It also pointed out that the military exercise is being held according to the plan of military trainings prepared last year.
