S. Korea speeding up efforts to have THAAD missile defense system operational
Seoul’s Defense Ministry has reaffirmed that it’s accelerating efforts to have the U.S. anti-missile system THAAD fully operational in the southern city of Seongju.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, a defense ministry official noted that this is a key project that the Yoon administration has been focusing on.
This comes a day after the presidential office said the THAAD system in Seongju will probably be operational by the end of this month.
The country’s defense minister had also said that the government is working to speed up this process, including an environmental impact assessment for the system.
