HEET is a fire support vehicle armed with a 105mm turret and has a front-crew layout with 180-degree forward visibility.

From tight city streets to vast desert corridors, Saudi forces can now deliver 105mm firepower with enhanced speed and visibility, thanks to a bold new crew-forward vehicle design.

The HEET 8×8 fire support vehicle is built for rapid deployment, capable of handling urban environments, open deserts, and rugged cross-country terrain typical of the region’s operational landscape.

It features an unconventional layout that positions the crew at the nose of the hull, just behind compact armored windows providing roughly 180 degrees of forward visibility.

In terms of firepower, the vehicle uses a 105mm gun system, giving it the lethality to engage bunkers, other armored vehicles, and critical targets.

The platform also supports manned or unmanned weapon configurations, letting operators choose between direct crew control for faster battlefield decisions or remote operation.

Protection and survivability are central to the design, with scalable armor packages that can be tailored to specific missions and evolving threat levels.

Advanced command-and-control systems further enhance the HEET 8×8 as a networked battlefield asset, enabling real-time data sharing across modern digital combat architectures.

Building Indigenous Firepower

The vehicle’s debut at the World Defense Show 2026 signals a shift in Saudi defense strategy, combining modular flexibility and locally developed firepower in a single platform.

It also highlights the country’s growing maturity in defense manufacturing, advances sovereign engineering capabilities, and reduces reliance on foreign suppliers.

Focusing on domestically built systems also underscores Saudi ambitions to deliver credible combat capability with long-term sustainment and lifecycle support.

Once it enters production, the HEET 8×8 could expand how Saudi forces and neighbors deliver mobile firepower across diverse terrain.
