Iran reveals new air defense missile

Iran has reaveled a new solid-propellant missile paired with Iran’s Bavar-373 air defense system.

The new missile, dubbed Sayyad 4B, has a range of 300 kilometers, Tasnim reported.

In a recent test, the Bavar-373 SAM successfully hit the target at a distance of over 300 km with the new missile. Iran’s air defense system was able to detect the target at more than 450 kilometers with its optimized radar and track the target at about 405 kilometers before detonating it with Sayyad 4B.

The Sayyad 4B rocket’s engine runs on a hybrid solid fuel and has passed operational tests for the first time.

The use of Sayyad 4B also means that the range of Iranian air defense system missiles has been increased to 300 km and the kill height has been increased from 27 to 32 km.
