Turkish warship TCG Anadolu open to visitors in Aegean Izmir city

Türkiye’s largest warship TCG Anadolu, which was built indigenously, opened to visitors at the Alsancak Port of the Aegean city of Izmir on Wednesday.

Starting service on April 10, the ship was also opened to visitors in Istanbul’s Sarayburnu Port on April 17, welcoming 140,055 visitors.

Recent Turkish defense projects, including the first indigenous uncrewed fighter jet Kizilelma, uncrewed combat aerial vehicle Bayraktar TB3, and new Altay tank have been displayed on board.

TCG Anadolu, built in Sedef Shipyard in Istanbul, is 230 meters (754 feet) in length and 32 m (105 ft) in width, and has an area of 9,200 square meters (99,028 sq-ft).

Six helicopters can land or take off simultaneously, while uncrewed combat aerial vehicles can also be deployed at the ship’s flight deck.

The ship, with a full-fledged hospital and two operation rooms, can host around 1,200 staff.

It has a capacity to carry 13 tanks, 27 marine assault vehicles, six armored personnel carriers, 15 trailers, and 33 various vehicles.
