Taiwan, UK Forge First Bilateral Drone Industry Alliance

Taiwan and the UK have signed their first formal agreement to strengthen drone industry cooperation, establishing a framework for joint research, investment, and commercial expansion.

The partnership brings together British defense trade association ADS Group and Taipei’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC), which leads the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA), a network of non-Chinese drone manufacturers.
ADS CEO Kevin Craven and AIDC President Jennifer Chuang signed the agreement during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in Hampshire, England.
“It is a great honor to secure this collaborative opportunity on behalf of [TEDIBOA] Chairman Tsao and all our members,” Chuang said.
“We have absolute confidence that Taiwan can become the safest, most reliable, and most manufacturing-capable strategic partner for the UK’s aerospace and defence industry in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Scaling With ‘Rapidly Evolving Sector’
The agreement is part of a broader series of international partnerships announced by ADS during the airshow, including separate deals with organizations in the US, Japan, and India.
Following the signing ceremony, representatives from Taiwan and the UK held additional talks to explore cross-border collaboration opportunities.
Craven described the agreement as “an important step forward” in reinforcing ties between the two drone industries.
“By creating a platform for collaboration, we can bring together our respective strengths in innovation, research and manufacturing to support the growth of this rapidly evolving sector,” he said.
“We look forward to working closely with TEDIBOA and unlocking new opportunities for businesses on both sides of the world.”
