UAE Firm Rolls Out Middle East’s ‘First AI-Powered Drone Swarm Tech’

AI-powered autonomous drone swarm technology is a platform to orchestrate multiple drones in GPS-denied environments, featuring a modular architecture, and real-time coordination.

UAE-based SIRBAI is turning GPS-denied skies into a coordinated battlefield with its new AI-powered autonomous drone swarm technology.

Revealed at UMEX 2026, the tech uses a “software-first,” in-house architecture designed for flexible development, security, and field deployment.

It is meant to work across a range of drones, from small tactical systems to larger unmanned combat aerial vehicles, and uses alternative navigation methods to maintain coordination without GPS.

Its modular design combines mission planning, command functions, and swarm execution into a single interface, aiming to reduce workflow complexity and shorten decision timelines.

By combining AI-based mission planning, distributed decision-making, and real-time coordination, the tech is intended to ease operator workload during missions.

SIRBAI frames the system as a scalable approach to autonomous swarm operations for defense tasks such as surveillance, force protection, and manned-unmanned teaming.

Regional Breakthrough

SIRBAI is positioning itself as the first Middle East-based company to field an AI-enabled autonomous drone swarm capability, entering a defense market increasingly focused on swarm operations.

According to the company, the tech builds on advanced research conducted in Abu Dhabi, including work originated at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).
