The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has launched a 25-million-pound ($31.5-million) fund to propose innovative “battle-winning” solutions for the Ukrainian armed forces.
The fund calls on UK defense companies — including small and medium-sized enterprises — to propose solutions in four categories: artillery, coastal defense, military logistics, resupply, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) by the 10th of June.
Artillery proposals should provide Soviet 152mm and 122mm ammunition resupply and maintenance solutions.
For coastal defense, the solutions should deter naval attacks and provide an offensive capability, including autonomous, remotely-controlled vehicles and continuous surveillance.
Military logistics and resupply solutions include “maintenance and development of infrastructure for supply lines by sea and land, including waterways, overbridging and general Ukrainian engineering capability.”
Lastly, UAS capability solutions in offensive, surveillance, and heavy-lift categories are being solicited.
