Ukraine is set to take delivery of its first five Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) in early 2026 under a contract signed in December.

The order, financed by the German government, places the value of the initial batch in the mid double-digit million-euro range. Additional batches are planned, including local production within Ukraine, signaling a long-term expansion of the country’s IFV capabilities.

Configured specifically for Ukraine’s armed forces, the vehicles will feature Rheinmetall’s two-man Lance turret and the platform’s highly modular design.

The Lynx KF41, developed to meet evolving battlefield requirements, emphasizes modularity, mobility, and protection.

Its open electronic architecture and spacious interior provide room for future technology upgrades, while its scalable weight, efficient drive system, and advanced protection technologies balance crew safety and operational effectiveness during extended missions.

Lynx KF41 Global Users

Outside of Ukraine’s upcoming deliveries, several European countries have already embraced the Lynx KF41 as part of long‑term mechanized modernization programs.

Italy has moved forward with trials and initial procurement, ordering 21 Lynx KF41 IFVs in November 2025 through a Leonardo‑Rheinmetall joint venture.

Hungary has been an early adopter of the Lynx KF41 platform. In August 2023, Rheinmetall opened a new Lynx production facility in Zalaegerszeg to locally make the IFV and other platforms.

In mid‑2024, Hungary also marked a milestone when the first locally produced Lynx KF41 rolled off the factory line, reinforcing the country’s ability to sustain and expand its IFV fleet in‑country.
