As of early July, Russia possesses roughly 300 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M type and their North Korean equivalents, the KN-23, Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence said in a response to LIGA.net.

According to HUR data, Russian forces currently have over 250 Iskander-M missiles and about 50 KN-23 ballistic missiles — which are considered analogues.

Back in mid-May, Russian troops had around 580 ballistic missiles available for their short-range missile systems. HUR noted that in 2025, Russia ramped up production: after producing around 40 missiles per month in 2024, they are now turning out about 60 per month.

Intelligence officials also reported that Russian forces have deployed more than 60 launchers for short-range ballistic missile systems near Ukraine’s border — all capable of firing the aforementioned missiles.

On June 5, Ukrainian Armed Forces units, in coordination with Ukraine’s SBU Security Service and other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a missile strike on a concentration of Russian missile troops. The strike reportedly hit three Iskander systems.
