Ukraine Expands Military Equipment With 1,526 Newly Approved Systems

Ukraine has approved 1,526 new weapons and military equipment models for use by its armed forces during the first eight months of this year, reporting a sharp increase from the 983 cleared over the same period in 2025.

Codification of this process occurs as an administrative and technical process confirming that equipment meets military requirements and is eligible for procurement and delivery to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Nearly 91 percent of the systems were produced domestically, up from 86 percent last year, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Unmanned platforms drove much of the increase.

The ministry codified 565 Ukrainian-made aerial systems, ranging from long- and medium-range strike drones to high-speed interceptors used against hostile unmanned aircraft.

It also cleared 86 unmanned ground vehicles and 64 electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems.

Kyiv also authorized 256 ammunition variants, 139 communications systems, and dozens of armored vehicles, optical devices, and general-purpose vehicles.

New logistics, training, maintenance, engineering, and demining equipment was also cleared.

The approvals also covered systems for radiological, chemical, and biological protection.

INGUAR-4 for Battlefield Recovery Options

Among the recently approved systems is the Ukrainian-made INGUAR-4 armored recovery vehicle, designed to retrieve damaged Ukrainian and foreign armored vehicles from combat zones.

Based on the INGUAR-3 armored vehicle, the new model adds a reinforced frame, an additional powered axle, a heavy-duty winch, and a hydraulic recovery system.

It can travel faster and farther on public roads without requiring a tank transporter.

Kyiv said testing confirmed the INGUAR-4’s ability to recover vehicles in difficult terrain while offering lower operating costs, simpler maintenance, and a reduced acoustic signature.
