Drone Maker Global Mark Unveils Massive Underwater Strike Drone
Sea Trident ST-1000 carries 1,000-kilogram payloads across 2,000 nautical miles for strike and cargo missions in contested waters.
A Ukrainian company known for its aerial drones and electronic warfare systems is venturing underwater for the first time with the unveiling of a massive autonomous drone designed for high-impact strikes.
Global Mark’s “Sea Trident ST-1000” is an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) built to take on long-range missions, with the capacity to carry payloads of up to 1,000 kilograms (2,205 pounds).
It features an oval-shaped steel hull and is transportable via a standard shipping container.
According to the Kyiv-based firm, Sea Trident is designed for asymmetric maritime operations, allowing it to evade enemy detection and penetrate contested waters.
Envisioned as a multi-role platform, the system can conduct strike missions, transport cargo, and even serve as a launch platform for aerial drones.
Diving Into the Numbers
Sea Trident measures more than 10 meters (33 feet) long and 1.5 meters (5 feet) without its mast assembly.
Weighing more than 10 metric tonnes (22,046 pounds), the AUV has an operational range of 2,000 nautical miles (2,302 miles/3,704 kilometers) and can dive to depths of up to 60 meters (197 feet).
It cruises at 6 knots (11.1 kilometers/6.9 miles per hour) and can reach speeds of up to 10 knots (18.5 kilometers/11.5 miles per hour).
The platform was unveiled at the Eurosatory 2026 expo in Paris.
