Hensoldt is scheduled to deliver six more TRML-4D early warning radars to Ukraine later this year to boost the country’s air defense.

The radars are part of a 100-million-euro ($108 million) comprehensive order package that includes an earlier tranche of TRML-4D systems delivered in 2023.

Hensoldt CEO Oliver Dörre said that the equipment is a vital part of Ukraine’s defense in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.

“The feedback from our customers confirms how important the rapid availability of the radars is for the protection of their citizens,” Dörre added.

Last month, Germany announced that it had delivered one more to Ukraine as part of its latest military aid package, bringing its tally of TRML-4D donations to nine.

The delivery included two Skynex air defense systems, IRIS-T missiles, and 146,000 rounds of ammunition for self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.

Hensoldt’s ‘High-Performance Radars’

The TRML-4D is integrated with Active Electronically Scanned Array radar, allowing it to detect and track 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 155 miles (250 kilometers).

It can track various aerial targets, including cruise missiles, drones, airplanes, and helicopters at altitudes up to 25 miles (40 kilometers).

Its operators include Egypt, Germany, and Latvia.
