The US State Department has approved a $3.68 billion missile sale to Poland.

The sale includes 745 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) for $1.69 billion, 821 AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles with Extended Range (JASSM-ER) for $1.77 billion, and 232 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II Tactical Missiles for $219.1 million.

According to the Defence Security Cooperation Agency, the missiles will enhance the Polish Air Force’s capability and increase its interoperability with the US and NATO forces.

The international version of the AMRAAM features upgraded circuit cards and processors in its guidance section for enhanced performance.

It reportedly has a greater escape zone than previous versions.

Meanwhile, the long-range stealthy JASSM-ER has an operational range of up to 575 miles (926 kilometers), capable of striking ground targets with a 9-foot (3 meter) median error radius.

Finally, the Sidewinder Block II tactical missile can be configured for air-to-air, surface attack, and surface launch roles, with an estimated operational range of over 10 miles (16 kilometers).
