Russia deploys in Ukraine Buk-M3 air defense missile system

According to a video published on Telegram on April 30, 2022, the armed forces of Russia have deployed its latest generation of mobile air defense missile system in Ukraine, called BUK-M3.

Citing the latest combat situations released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, on May 1, 2022, in the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, groups of Russian soldiers are conducting active operations along the entire section of the line of contact. Russian soldiers are trying to carry out airstrikes and artillery fire on the positions of Ukrainian positions.

In order to cover the advancing air forces in four designated areas, Russian forces deployed two anti-aircraft missile divisions armed with Buk-M2 NATO designation SA-17 Grizzly and Tor-M1 NATO designation SA-15 Gauntlet.

With the publication of this video, the Russian forces show to further strengthen their willingness to strengthen their anti-aircraft defenses with the use of the Buk-M3 which is the latest generation of mobile air defense system in the BUK family.

The Buk-M3 also nicknamed Viking, medium-range surface-to-air missile system is a modernized version of the Buk-M2 system, features advanced electronic components and a deadly new missile, and could be regarded as a completely new system.
