New Russian Sirius drone will be able to carry guided bombs
According to information published by Tass on September 16, 2022, the latest Russian heavy Sirius drones can carry guided and unguided bombs and missiles.
Sirius underwent various flight trials and tested interaction with manned aviation and ground controls.
Sirius (Inokhodets-RU R&D) is a development of Orlan drone with two engine and a bigger takeoff weight. The naval option can be engaged in search-and-rescue operations and reconnaissance. The delivery of Sirius to the Russian army is expected in 2023.
Sirius is a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) attack UAV, with a wingspan of 30m, length of 9m and height of 3.3m, a maximum combat load of 450kg, cruise speed of 295km/h, maximum altitude 12,000m, and an endurance of 40 hours.
